In Common SPACE

October 11, 2006

The University of Florida Digital Worlds Institute continued its series of global collaborations entitled “In Common: TIME” (ICT) with a special World Premiere netcast live from Miami on Wednesday, October 11 @ 1:30 and 2:15 PM EST.  In partnership with the Case Western Reserve University’s Mather Dance Center, the New World School of the Arts, and the UF College of Fine Arts School of Theatre and Dance, the Digital Worlds Institute presented “In Common SPACE” at the REVE in historic Norman Gym.

Choreographers located simultaneously at three divergent points across North America created a new “Distributed Collaboration” to demonstrate the potential of the high- speed Internet2 to bring audiences and performers together simultaneously across great distances. Choreographers Dale Andree, Kelly Drummond Cawthon, Neta Pulvermacher and Gary Galbraith created a new work set to the music of UF composer James Oliverio, with original NOME programming by Digital Worlds former Associate Director Andy Quay. New World’s Dean of Dance Daniel Lewis served as the Executive Producer and Artistic Director for “In Common SPACE”
