Patrick Pagano
Assistant in Digital Media Engineering

Mr. Pagano joins the Digital Worlds Institute with over 10 years experience in Advanced Media Systems, Projection Design, live performance and varied digital software tools. He has taught Time-based Media, Digital Culture, Interdisciplinary Research Seminars, Digital Montage, Advanced Sound Design, Digital Performance and Interdisciplinary Research Seminars for the University. He was awarded the first ever MFA in Digital Arts and Science from the University of Florida in 2005, joined the prestigious, Digital Worlds Institute as an IT expert and worked on interactive global distributive dance and interactive fine arts performances with highlights @ Siggraph 2005 emerging technologies showcase. Mr. Pagano’s research in digital fine art has led to the development of a suite of open source tools for hybrid media performance, theatrical projection and electro acoustic soundscapes. Patrick draws upon a multidisciplinary experience working with the technologies of computers, video, audio, photography and the integration of these primary devices with digital praxis. Mr. Pagano is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, and plays over 10 instruments including Sitar, tamboura, Violin, piano, synthesizer, flute, clarinet including Tuvan overtone singing and has produced and appeared on over 50 audio recordings since 1987.

He holds an Associate of Arts degree from Santa Fe Community College, a Bachelor's of Science degree in Telecommunications from the University of Florida, a degree in Just Intonation and Electronic Instrument Design from The South East Just Intonation Society and a MFA in Digital Arts and Science from the University of Florida.
