Dream Machine
The History of the University of Florida

As a tribute to the rich 150-year legacy of the University of Florida, we offer an original digital movie entitled "DREAM MACHINE". This presentation was produced by the very first graduating classes of the new Digital Arts and Sciences (DAS) program in interdisciplinary collaboration with over 100 UF students with backgrounds in art, animation, architecture, engineering, theater, English, journalism, computer modeling, music, photography, film making and liberal arts and sciences.

It is particularly appropriate that members of the DAS Class of 2003 honored their Alma Mater by creating a work that embodies the spirit of the UF Sesquicentennial: "Honoring the Past, Shaping the Future."

DREAM MACHINE SCREENING UPDATE 2004

With the start of another academic year, the demand for screenings of DREAM MACHINE has once again risen exponentially. The optimal place to experience DREAM MACHINE is in the Digital Worlds Institute's Research, Education and Visualization Environment (REVE).

However, as the REVE's name indicates, the facility is used for much more than movie screenings. Thus complimentary presentations of DREAM MACHINE are limited to Fridays at 12 noon by advance reservation for parties of 10 or more. Please call 294-2020 to make your reservation request.

Entities that wish to screen DREAM MACHINE at the REVE at times other than the Friday demo must fill out the reservation form for the facility and submit it through proper channels. There is a nominal cost for every event held at the REVE, with UF groups receiving the lowest possible pricing. Occasionally we may be able to add a mid-sized group (up to 25 people) to a screening that has already been booked, but these instances are limited.

Please follow the REVE Reservations link below to request a Reservation for the REVE: http://www.digitalworlds.ufl.edu/

Alternatively, your group may wish to purchase copies of DREAM MACHINE on DVD and then screen it in your classroom or other appropriate environment. These DVDs should be available at the UF Bookstore and are also available directly from the Digital Worlds Institute at 294-2020.
